Credibility and Integrity remains our watchword says organizers of Nigeria Pitch Awards

The organizers of the Nigeria Pitch Awards, one of Nigeria’s most prestigious awards in the country, have reiterated their commitment to maintaining the event’s credibility, transparency, and integrity in determining the winners of various award categories.

This was made known during a media parley in Abuja, where the President of the organization and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Shina Phillips, addressed journalists.

Phillips emphasized that the award process is meticulously conducted to ensure that the best nominees are chosen. He expressed gratitude to Nigerian sports editors and journalists for their support since the awards’ inception in 2012.

“It is with a sense of humility that I specially wish to salute the courage, steadfastness, commitment, and dedication of all Nigerian sports editors and journalists who have supported the awards since 2012. We express our gratitude to you for standing by the Nigeria Pitch Awards for the past 10 years,” Phillips said.

He highlighted that the core values of transparency, credibility, and integrity have shaped the character of the awards. “From inception, our intention was to create an award platform that has a unique character of its own; a character molded by our core values of transparency, credibility, and integrity. To achieve this, we have followed a carefully laid-out award process which brings together a college of voters comprising some of Nigeria’s most knowledgeable, experienced, and professional sports journalists, and an independent collation body,” he added.

The Director of Communications for the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ademola Olajire, also spoke at the event, praising the organizers for their transparency and integrity. “What has kept the support of the NFF with the Pitch Awards going all these years has been the aspect of accountability, credibility, integrity, and transparency. The organizers have done well, particularly in bringing in a college of voters to make the whole process transparent,” Olajire stated.

The Nigeria Pitch Awards continues to set a high standard for awards ceremonies in the country, with a commitment to upholding the highest levels of integrity in its processes.
